Who We Are

Catron Inc. was founded in 2009 and has been an industrial solution provider of NDIR gas sensors, online spectrometers, and millimeter-wave sensors for a variety of industries.

Since 2021, Catron has focused on improving photoplethysmography (PPG) and seismocardiogram (SCG) technology for health and medical wearables.  With 20-years of experience in nondispersive infrared (NDIR) sensing and by applying skin optics, spectrum engineering, and advanced mathematics, Catron has developed the best-in-class PPG sensing techniques for wearables. Catron wearables have demonstrated 10 times better performance than the ones currently on market in term of signal-noise-ratio, perfusion index, power consumption, and small design size. The result is a product that delivers great performance at low cost.

Catron uses microwave and seismic techniques in the development of their SCG wearables, which leads to the best-in-class performance in the market for heart and pulmonary seismic detection. The Catron SCG wearables are better than other products in terms of signal-to-noise ratio, bandwidths, anti-temperature/pressure/humidity resistance, miniature size, synchronized sampling, real-time processing, very low power consumption, and light weight.  Catron will continue developmental work into addressing challenges associated with health wearables.

Catron is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a subsidiary in Chengdu, China.  Our key staff members have more than 20 years of industrial design experience.  Their expertise is in photoelectric sensors, online spectrometers, NDIR gas sensors, thermal image sensing system, and millimeter-wave sensors.

Our specialties at Catron are quick product development and rapid prototyping.  Catron provides very competitive OEM services and CM services.
